Not to say the album is better, although I think I liked it a little more. OutKast is a bit different, more experimental and weird than most other successful hip hop acts. There are a lot of guests on the record, though they rarely outperform the main members of the group, Big Boi and Andre /5().

Description Stankonia is the fourth studio album by American hip hop duo OutKast, released October 31, on La Face Records. The group's previous release, Aquemini (), played a significant role in introducing Southern hip-hop to other areas of the United States.

One of the most hyped hip hop album by rock critics of the last decade – but don't hold that against Stankonia, because these ghetto grooves from planet P-Funk were exactly what the world needed in ! The millenium blowout party jam feel throughout is surely a nice change of pace from all the doom and gloom out there, but they still manage to spit out enough reality to keep things.

The reason OutKast has been so successful is because each plays off the other so perfectly and the result can be quite magnificent in terms of music in general and not just hip hop, as exemplified by both Aquemini and Stankonia. If today, OutKast decided to split rght now, as much speculation (which is probably just that) might lead us to think Missing: Xplosion.

Oct 23,  · Editors' Notes Who else but rap’s most fearlessly creative duo could open their biggest album with a bonfire of American dreams? Outkast’s fourth LP may have launched them into the mainstream, but there’s nothing safe about it: Even its most populist track, “Ms. Jackson”, is a glitchy, galactic soul number about a messy divorce.
